Late posting. I just love this because I take the time to reflect back on the positive -which I especially needed this week-puts life in perspective.

pickI found this edition while scanning the shelves in an indie bookstore in Seattle. It was a quick read with a lot of familiar information and ideas—but EKR is always worth reading. I honestly can‘t get enough of books on these topics! The world needs more of them. Death Care and Death Education can be so different, if we allow it to be. Today at school students made cards,paper chains for people they were grateful for.It set such a lovely,much needed tone for the day. 1) mums on my porch 2) the moon before sunset 3) sunset tonight at the cemetery a block away 4) my son- his constant good natured giving of himself to family & friends.5) Poe looking out a sunny window.Thanks Deb,I needed to focus on joy‘s & gratitude this week. #5JoysFriday
#DaysDevotedTo Day 7: there are soul-stirring real-life #FamilyStories in this journalistic memoir of sorts by Portuguese author Susana Moreira Marques. This book will stay with me for awhile. Review is forthcoming.

#WickedWhispers Day 13: This title sounds particularly #Chilling in a moribund sort of way. Made sure I brought female Portuguese novelists with me as I travel to Lisbon in a few hours‘ time. Made sure I have posts now for the entire duration of my five day travel. 🧳✈️🛫🇵🇹
I just found out that aquamation is now legal here! It was part of a bill that passed this July! HB 4116. I never thought I would see the day in this state. I will be sharing this with the community and be sure to bring it up at my Death Cafes. I like to think of it as going in a big dishwasher for a good bath 🤣 This is my first choice for my final disposition and it‘s in my advanced directives.
