Amazing thriller in the Dublin Murder Squad series (this is no. 4)
Had me SO deeply invested that for the last 100 pages I had 3 versions going (audio, ebook, physical book) so I had access to it wherever I was.
I could not not find out wtf was happening asap.

Book 3 in the #DublinMurderSquad series by #TanaFrench was another engaging mystery. LOVE how she takes a character from previous book to be the narrator in the next. Keeps the series fresh and interesting.
Faithful Place tackles Frank‘s backstory. I didn‘t love him in Likeness but this did an excellent job of showing us who he really is and care about him.
Also fun to be introduced here to the narrator of the next in the series😉

The final book in the #DublinMurderSquad series by Tana French. It wasn‘t the best in the series; the writing could have been better, but it still had the shock value. Overall, I would definitely recommend this series. It‘s great storytelling, for the most part, and a change-up in how to write a series. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

deeannloso @Susanita Me too. 😊 2y
Ruthiella @Susanita @deeannloso I want her to at least do one final novel bringing us back full circle to Rob and what happened when he was a child. 2y
deeannloso @Ruthiella I totally agree. That would be closure. 2y
PirateJenny She will never do that though. Personally I kind of like that it's left open 2y
Andrew65 And it‘s a wrap! Well done 👏👏👏 2y
deeannloso @Andrew65 Thank you! 🤚🏻🎉 2y

“In ‘In the Woods‘, Cassie Maddox has transferred out of the Dublin Murder Squad—until an urgent telephone call brings her back to an eerie crime scene.

The victim looks exactly like Cassie and carries ID identifying herself as Alexandra Madison, an alias Cassie once used as an undercover cop. Suddenly, Cassie is back undercover, to find out not only who killed this young woman, but, more importantly, who she was. #DublinMurderSquad #series

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I‘ve only read two other Tana French books, and was blown away by her character development and atmospheric settings. The writing is quite good here, too, if long-winded, BUT this story is dumb. Completely unbelievable and rather anticlimactic. Will it deter me from reading #DublinMurderSquad book 3? Absolutely not. I believe this is just a weak link in an otherwise sturdy chain.

jlhammar This wasn't my favorite either. I liked book 3 more and book 4 most of all. Hope those will be more to your liking! The Dublin Murders tv series did a pretty good job with it though. Combines books 1 & 2. Worth a watch. 3y
britt_brooke @jlhammar I liked the first book a lot and definitely plan to read the others, so I‘m happy to hear they‘re strong - thank you! I‘ll have to check out the show sometime, too. 3y
Cinfhen I read the first book and was not a fan. More Me than anything else 🤷🏼‍♀️ 3y
Ruthiella The implausibility of the story was an issue for me too and the mystery could have been solved with, dare I say it, police work? 😂 Instead of theatrics. But I did like Cassie as a character. 3y
britt_brooke @Ruthiella Right?! 😂 I really do like Cassie, too. 3y
