I have never celebrated #CanadaDay (or the #FourthofJuly) and I don‘t know any Indigenous person who has. It has always been a day of mourning for us.

There are tons of resource lists being shared now more than ever. Search them out. I will add that it‘s not enough to just read Indigenous authors. #DecolonizeYourShelves but also decolonize the way you read, analyze and review books. Racism is still a huge problem within bookish communities.

Pickpick

This book is most effective if you go in knowing very little about what you're about to read. So I'll call it a pick and leave it at that!

This one will be heading out soon for its #LMPBC journey! @BookishTrish @Read-y_Picker @DinoMom

Cinfhen @Hooked_on_books sent me this book but I wasn‘t able to get into it/ I NEED to try again because Holly really liked it and we usually feel the same about most books. 4y
Hooked_on_books @Cinfhen It‘s SO good! But here‘s the thing: early in the book it‘s a bit repetitive and almost boring. But that‘s on purpose! It sets up what‘s coming so well and then you cannot put it down. So at least get to the point that you know what‘s happening before you give up. 4y
TheKidUpstairs @Cinfhen i agree with what Holly said. It is fairly repetitive in the beginning, it lulls you into thinking you know what's going on, you know what the story is. It's worth sticking with it until it flips before you decide if it's a book for you! 4y
