Part historical, part present day. This book would have been absolute perfection and a full 5 stars if it was just the historical story. I wasn‘t keen on the present day aspect and could have done without it
as it was boring and I wasn‘t very interested in the characters
The characters in the historical part were however brilliant and I can see them sticking with me for a long time

I bought these two books yesterday in a small & local bookstore. I didn‘t remember the title of the first, only the cover and the rough storyline 😅. It turned out there A LOT of blue books with birds on them, featuring an Italian family😂. Must be a trend.

pickChristina Henry has been my go to author for the #FairytaleReadingChallenge. This book did not disappoint. Our mermaid, Amelia, ends up as an attraction at one of PT Barnums oddity shows. Not as dark as some of her other work, this one was more of a feminist read. I liked it. @Charityann
