#CampToB21 A really fun and original HF set in the early 1600‘s, Germany, at a time when villagers could accuse a neighbor of being a witch to explain/justify any calamities. Based on actual witch trial transcripts , Rivka Galchen reimagines the villagers pettiness and jealousies as they state their grievances against the widower Katerina Kepler. Audio narration was fabulous 🙌🏻♥️ I will admit to my mind wandering often😜👇🏼

Sorry #CampToB21 friends and Helen Oyeyemi! This is a #BAIL for me 😖It‘s also #3StrikesAndYoureOut 😉I just don‘t think Oyeyemi and I are soul mates. I do admire her cover art, though 😍 #SoManyBooksSoLittleTime to read a book that isn‘t connecting/ working

Cinfhen I only bought this one @squirrelbrain because it was buy one get the other half off and both books were for #CampToB and not available for me to borrow. I KNEW owning it would be a mistake 😫 4y

vivastory Probably. I'm planning on reading it, although I've given up on following #camptob It's impossible for me to chime in with the discussion during the day at work & lately when I get home from work I'm too exhausted. It's on my tbr though 4y

Megabooks I loved What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours @Cinfhen and @BarbaraBB but I was going through a magical realism phase. also read and loved Kelly Link, Helen Phillips, etc. at the time, but Phillips is the only one whose new releases I‘ve kept up with. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤔 4y

Well-ReadNeck I didn‘t bail, but having finished, I have to say those of u who bailed haven‘t missed much. I agree with many of you, not one I‘d recommend. There were a couple elements where I thought, hey, this idea has promise, but none of those moments really led anywhere, IMO. 4y

The Thursday Murder Club | Richard Osman

This was a cozy and witty whodunnit. I enjoyed it and laughed out loud during the part where police officer Chris appears to drown in the sofa 😂
I also liked the characters of the Murder Club members and would love to live in such a community one day. Not sure I‘ll read the sequel though.

Once I realized this was a novel and not a memoir, I began to appreciate the skill and depth much more. What essentially reads as ramblings or diary entries is in fact a melancholy existence of a middle age woman. Really beautiful writing and often sharp observations of a life at it‘s midway mark. An interesting choice/pairing for #CampToB21 going against a very different story (Klara and the Sun). I much prefer this novel. #OneSittingRead

KathyWheeler What‘s also interesting to me about this book is that she wrote it in Italian and then translated it into English. I saw an interview where she discussed that process. 4y

Detransition, Baby: A Novel | Torrey Peters

My library hold arrived today 🙌🏻I‘ve seen loads of praise for this book but two of my very favorite trusted readers were iffy about Detransition, Baby so I‘m curious to see where I‘ll land. #CampToB21 @BarbaraBB I should also say a few of my fabulous friends & equally trusted for their reading expertise loved this book❣️❣️ I‘ve read about 40 pages so far and im not in the loving camp just yet.

BarbaraBB I‘m about to start too. A bit afraid now, that I won‘t love it but my irl best friend is enjoying it so I hope I will too. We mostly like the same books 🤞🏽 4y
