While there are sometimes nuggets here that resonate with me, overall I find her writing opaque, circular, repetitive, and without a lot of practical application. DNF at 40%

This is a straightforward commentary on Shantideva‘s classic text on the way of the Bodhisattva. If you enjoy books by Pema Chodron, I welcome you to dig deeper into Buddhist wisdom with this text. Norman Fischer‘s zen interpretation of this work is also excellent. ☸️ I would have preferred a print edition, but I am rich in Audible credits, so audio had to do.
I know this is super late, but I wanted to thank you all for the #holidaycardswap and #naturalitsycardswap cards! I read and loved them all! I have them saved in a nice box ❤️
Sweet Catir….thank ypu so much for thinking of me for Hanukkah!!! The book looks like what I need about now…along with a big bath and bomb! Great card. Thank you so much my friend. 😘

Read for my friend's online Yoga, Books, & Brunch Club. Discussion was on Sunday. Pic is of my Brunch Tray all prepped.
I really enjoyed Chapter 4 about when things go horribly wrong. And how we react to it.
In the middle it bogged down. Became to woo woo for me and I skimmed a bit. Finished reading last chapters. But all in all I liked the basic message of How We Live Is How We Die.
What a wonderful little surprise pick-me-up you sent @ElizaMarie It was just perfectly what I needed today! 💜 And I love the stickers so much! Thanks for thinking of me!
Not the tagged book. 😒 Pema Chodron was asked to come out of her own retreat to offer a weekend retreat to a group at the Naropa Institute in Boulder, Colorado. Pema‘s teachings over that weekend were recorded in front of the live audience and produced in audiobook format for everyone to enjoy. I love that Buddhist teachings are extremely relatable to my daily life.
