This is the story of the making of the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany‘s”. This story hit at a time when job listings were posted under male & female; when women wore Betty Draper sherbet confections & black dresses, little or otherwise, were relegated to mourning and Hollywood villainesses. This is a good read about the challenges of the writers, producers and talent who brought this to screen.
This was a really fun read for me as it gives you all the little details behind how this book and movie came to be and about the growth of Hollywood and how they see/saw woman. Fans of Breakfast at Tiffany‘s should really enjoy this one.

I positively ADORED this book! I hardly ever read nonfiction but this one reads like fiction - it‘s so narrative and juicy and fun! The characters - everyone who had a role in the making of Breakfast at Tiffany‘s - all jump right off the page as Wasson pulls back the curtain on the whole filmmaking process. Highly recommend!!
If you‘ve seen the movie Breakfast at Tiffany‘s, you may want to take a look at this book. Wasson writes a film history of the movie and how Holly Golightly became a status symbol for women. #AvenuesandAlleyways #Ayupaugust
