TODAY'S PROMPT: WRITING IN BOOKS
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER would I write in a book.
DGRachel As a Literature Major, I wrote in books all the time. As a general rule, I don‘t anymore, but there are certain books, like Norton Critical Editions that I do still highlight and write in. 7y
Schlinkles I do and love reading books that others have written in. It‘s fun to see how other people engaged with a book. 7y
Lynnsoprano I highlight frequently, especially in nonfiction. I write in cookbooks all the time, because I can‘t make anything without a few tweaks. 😄 7y

cathysaid Depends on the purpose. If I'm reading a novel I will then keep on my shelves, then I rarely write in them. But if I'm reading with the goal of discussion, or for the #LMPBC exchange, then I will write in it a lot b/c I like the interaction it creates. And like @DGRachel mentioned, any books for the English degrees were marked up extensively! 7y
CoffeeNBooks I started writing in the books that I teach, so I can remember everything I want to further discuss with my students. Now I write in most, especially when I read classics- underlining quotes I like, notes about allusions in the books, my thoughts, etc. I definitely write in my cookbooks because I'm always changing recipes just a little! 😁 7y

FountainBookstore I write my to do lists in my ARCs on the inner back flap. When I'm done with a book I always have to check the last page for notes to myself. Phone numbers, etc. I will also rip out blank pages to use for note paper. Why are there blank pages in a book anyway?!? 7y
