GardenJess I‘d definitely start at the beginning or earlier on - the author was dealing with illness and the loss of her husband when she wrote this one so it wasn‘t her best. The characters hooked me early on so I‘m willing to overlook the dud. 4y

MallenNC @GardenJess I definitely understand that. I love Louise Penny‘s Gamache series but there are a few in the back list that I didn‘t love. I will try again sometime. I‘m always looking for a good mystery series. 4y

GardenJess Have you tried the Maisie Dobbs series (that‘s the title of the first one)? That‘s one of my faves. 4y

MallenNC @GardenJess Yes! I love that one. I haven‘t finished all of it yet but I‘ve enjoyed the ones I‘ve read. I recently tried the Maggie Hope series and I liked the first one enough to read more. 4y
