With 20 pages left to read, Daisy beat me to bed last night saying “let‘s finish this thing!” This book was a lot of fun. It was sold to me as Scooby Doo for adults and, to some extent, it was. It was scarier than Scooby Doo at times and definitely had more murder and mayhem. The book was well written, the story was fluid. My only real complaint was that the fight scenes were a bit messy. Every move was mentioned so it was hard to keep track.

Annihilation | Jeff VanderMeer

The first two books in the Southern Reach trilogy have characters going berserk in interesting ways. (I just finished the second; I can't seem to stop talking about it 😳)

I had a work appointment near the remainders bookstore I practically live at 😂 & was happy to find the third book. I read the first two as epubs, but need the whole trilogy in physical copies now, especially in these lovely UK editions 😍 #berserker #nuyear @TrishB @Cinfhen

Bertha_Mason I loved the Annihilation, and wish I could've finished the second one, but the protagonist got under my skin too much with his weird double-oh seven pretensions. I still might try the third. 7y

batsy @Bertha_Mason A lot of people seem to have issues with him, but for some reason he didn't bother me too much 🙂 I was quite annoyed with the whole mother/grandfather family secret thing, though. I hope the third book has satisfactory explanation for it. 7y

#NuYear #NewYearReads I'm cozy in bed with coffee #InMyMug and reading the MOST #beserker true crime tale on my iPad. The kidnapping of Patty Hearst was an international story that played out in the early 1970's. I'm beginning to see a pattern of complete chaos back then when it came to crime solving and police procedures!! This stuff is crazzzy pants!!! My OverDrive expires in 3 days so I've got some speed reading to do🙄
