pickFor #readafrica2022 I selected this title representing #Belgiancongo #thecongo. I have to say I spent a few chapters yelling at the book. A few chapters crying and the whole book cringing as several times it was extremely uncomfortable. Which I guess is why it‘s a controversial read. In any event this country came alive for me through her descriptions and the characters. #travelthroughbooks @BarbaraBB @Librarybelle @Texreader
