This was an ok read. I listened to the audio so I couldn't tell the difference of the various writing styles. I liked the inclusivity but I was not too fond of the teenage drama. I give it 3⭐️.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book 2 of the Will Trent series was pretty much episode 1 of the show, so a few spoilers for me. (I‘ve stopped watching the show to prevent this moving forward 😁) but I love Will!!! Sometimes my heart breaks for him.

Listening to tagged book and enjoying some Christmas ambiance before work this morning. Anyone know if there‘s a #holidaycardswap this year? I signed up for a lovely winter themed one, but I really enjoyed the Christmas one I did last year. Litsy is my cozy holiday home.

PuddleJumper @LitsyEvents is keeping track of things happening. I think that's a winter card swap 1mo

There was a (black owned!) bookseller (The Soul Book Nook from Waterloo, IA) at the conference, so I picked up a couple titles. Then I got myself a candle and cute wrapping paper to treat myself this afternoon.

Suet624 Oh! You‘ve just reminded me that I want to read more McCammon. 1mo

As usual, I devoured this book. It‘s a heartbreaking read. Slaughter is a gifted thriller writer and this latest installment in the Will Trent series is just as compulsively readable, horrifying, and gut-wrenching as the others. Faith‘s description of the case is perfect, but potentially spoiler-y, so I‘ll put it in the comments under a spoiler tag.

In my mind this is the true start of Will Trent, the first book - while brilliant - felt more like an introduction, especially considering that the main point of view is so different from the rest of the books.
This book really shows who Will is and what he's accomplished with his life.
It's always fun re-reading books; seeing how the author already knew more of his backstory in book two than we could have ever guessed at this point.

This is the 12th book in the Will Trent series, which is a sequel to the 6 books in the Grant County series. I have read most of them and they are all really very good. They are dark, often graphic, but filled with great characters. This one involves a majorly dysfunctional family that run a resort where Will and Sara are staying. Naturally there is a murder. Thank you to Edelweiss+ for the digital ARC. I could not put it down. 4.5/5 stars!
