In 1938 Clover & Jotter were the first women to brave the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. They were botanists studying & collecting specimens. Unsurprisingly, all emphasis by the press was on the fact that they were women & not that they were scientists. It was not a pleasure cruise, but an exploration into the unknown flora in the area. It's an incredible story.

Fascinating story! Highly recommend.
Look at that, another book about the Grand Canyon. I am besotted with this natural wonder and I hope to make plans for our family to visit next year. This book is about two female botanists who journey into the canyon with a group of men. They cataloged plants and recorded their excursion…thanks to the journals the author was able to refer to source material and write about each woman and her experiences doing what women hadn‘t before.

this is an outdated camping book, but the only thing that isn‘t helpful anymore is the price range for each campground.
& the photography is STUNNING though!

Wedding bells are chiming in this 10th addition to the Cupcake Bakery series, and Mel finds herself once again trying to identify the killer. The multiple murders in this one are a little gruesome (off page, but you can read between the lines). It‘s fun to see how the characters have developed over the course of the series, with several more books to go. Good listen, and a fast listen too!
My son read this for his freshman English class and I‘ve been meaning to read it since. (He‘s a senior now 🤷♀️)
I loved it. It touches on a lot of sad topics, but with a lot of hope.
