I like looking for new recipes bc I get tired of fixing the same thing over and over. I found a lot of good recipes to try from breakfast to suppers to deserts. Now if my picky husband will like them🤣

I counted the sections as chapters for the #20in4 there were 6 sections. Brings my total up to 16 Chapters. @Andrew65

In 2011, Laura Spierer went out one night in June and has never been seen since. She was with a couple of guys during the night. One was the last to see her, but the case went cold. 12 years later, Cohen, who first reported on the case goes back to reinvestate the case. Will he turn up anything new?

JFK Fyi | Gary B. Haley

What a book! It's a True Crime book on JFK's assassination and I can promise you have never read a book this well researched . I learned a whole lot. It's always been thought that Oswald didn't act alone in JFK's assassination. Haley took me on a deep dive into the years leading up to JFK's Presidency to his assassination.

I have to admit, I always have thought the government had a hand in JFK's killing. After reading this though, I now ⬇️

MonicaLoves2Read know there is so much more to the story. I never realized how many people hated him. I was born in the 70's so everything I learned about him and his assassination I learned from school. After reading this book, I can see anyone of the people or countries mentioned actually putting a hit on JFK. After finishing this, I am positive Oswald didn't. He was just a pansy the real assassins used. They then had him killed before he could squeal.

I think everyone, that has ever wondered what really happened, needs to read JFK FYI by Gary B. Haley. It published September 15, 2023. Run to your local library or favorite bookstore and read this book. It's so fascinating and eye-opening.

Thanks to BookSirens, Haley and HaveCoffeeWillPublish. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

😊 Happy Reading 😊

Not a popular opinion, but I just didn't get the jest of this book. It's supposed to be a mystery, but I must of missed the mystery. To me it was more women's literary fiction than a mystery. 2⭐

4.5 ⭐

Erik Larson writes well researched books. When I read a book that he has written I know that I am going to get well researched, well written book that will transport me to whatever the year or years the book includes. I can vividly see myself there.

I love watching shows like 20/20, 48 Hours and Dateline, and this book fell right along with that. Douglas and Olshaker write about the beginning of the Behavioral Unit at the FBI. They look at the behind the scenes.

The first part of the book dealt with Douglas' early life and time at the FBI. I would have preferred they looked at more cases. Some of the cases they explored I knew about, but there were quite a few I didn't. Overall, ⬇️

MonicaLoves2Read a good read if you enjoy the True Crime Genre.

The Fury | Alex Michaelides

Mehso-so

I found 'The Fury' to be just okay. There are a lot of twists and turns it takes. It flip flops a whole lot between past and present, which I don't usually mind, but the way it was written didn't work for me. There's been mixed reviews on it and I can see why. The narrator, Elliott, was unreliable to me.

The Boy Who Cried Bear | Kelley Armstrong

'The Boy Who Cried Bear' is the.second book in the Haven's Rock Series by Kelley Armstrong. Casey and Eric are one of my favorite detective and sheriff duo. They have left Rockton and started a new hidden town in the Yukon called Haven's Rock.

There are a lot of things different between Haven's Rock and ⬇️

MonicaLoves2Read Rockton. One being that, in Haven's Rock, they allow children. We meet two of the children, Carson and Max, in this installment. They are brothers that moved with their mom when their dad was murdered. One day on a hike, Max notices a bear. This starts the next case for Casey and Eric. While they have the town locked down, Max goes missing.

Armstrong continues to develop all the main characters in this series. Casey, Eric and the others have grown so much from the start of the Rockton series. She finds a way to keep this series interesting. Armstrong always leaves me wanting this next book, but alas I must wait. She combined suspense, mystery and everyday life into a satisfying read.

If you haven't read the Haven's Rock Series yet, you need to, especially if you read the Rockton series and enjoyed it.

Published February 20, 2024

Thank you to Netgalley, St. Martin's Prees, Minotaur Books, and Armstrong for the E-ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another great one! Robb looked at some current topics dealing with teens. I always feel like I am visiting old friends, when I read an 'In Death' book. This is the 58th one in the series and I have read them all.

Plain And Fancy | Wanda E. Brunstetter
post image
Pickpick

The third book in the 'Brides of Lancaster County' by Wanda E. Brunstetter. Plain and Fancy was well written. Laura is from Minnesota and goes to Designing School in Pennsylvania. She meets Eli Holder, who is Amish. Eli has not joined church, yet, bc he hasn't meet the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. That doesn't matter to his mother. She thinks Pauline is the perfect wife for Eli After Eli and Laura meet, they try ⬇️

MonicaLoves2Read stay away from each other, but it doesn't work. Soon Laura decides to become Amish, so her and Eli can marry.

There was great character development with Laura and Eli. She faced a lot of changes to her way of life. One thing I didn't like was that she complained all the time. I was thinking to myself, you were the one who chose to become Amish. Quit taking it out on others and blaming them for your decision.

Can she learn to live with her decision? What secret is she hiding from Eli? If you like Christian Fiction and have never read Brunstetter, you really need to give her a try. I think you will enjoy her books. I know I do.

😊 Happy Reading 😊
