I am sure I have read other books #AboutAddiction but these two come to mind. The tagged is probably one of the first books about it that I read (as a tween). I just finished Seven Days in June for #SummerHeat buddy read & while it‘s about many things besides addiction, it certainly plays a large role in the story.

Drinking: A Love Story | Caroline Knapp

#bookmoods #aboutaddiction I read drinking memoirs often, many in my orbit have had issues with alcohol.I think people write them to help themselves stay in recovery and perhaps think that their story will help someone else realize they might have a problem. I liked both of these a lot.

I bought this several years ago, but haven‘t gotten around to reading it yet. Sounds interesting and I‘ve heard good things about Laing‘s writing.

I enjoyed a few songs by The Sex Pistols back in the day and the new Pistol show has got me thinking about this book I read when I was a young teenager. This is Nancy‘s mothers story about Nancy‘s life and addiction. I couldn‘t put it down, I was totally captivated by her story and Nancy‘s relationship and ultimate death at the hands of her boyfriend Sid Vicious.

I tried to read this book but I just couldn‘t get into it and ended up bailing about 50 pages in 😬 It does fit today‘s prompt #AboutAddiction though ☺️ I know a bunch of people loved this book, it just wasn‘t for me.
