#2019Book2
I don't read enough books about people who live in the Middle East, but this graphic novel has definitely inspired me to check out more that fall into this category. This story of two slave children is absolutely heartbreaking, but their determination to survive and save each other is inspiring. It was also interesting to learn more about the Quran, which this book references frequently. And the artwork is gorgeous.

Gezemice Great review! 6y
CampbellTaraL Adding this to my TBR, thank you! I recommend Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi (graphic novel that was also made into an animated movie). It's an autobiographical account of the author growing up in Iran during and after the revolution. 6y
JacintaMCarter @taraWritesSci I read Persepolis a few years ago and loved it! 6y
