I loved this!! It totally caught me up in its story.

I was loaned this book from a friend who told our crafting group all about it. I'm the second one she loaned it to. I'm excited to start.

Loved this book. The irreverent tone - very Canadian - the matter-of-fact, yet also incredible, plot,the realistic characters.
The story switches between the "present", in which a girl grows up, living her life and also wondering in the back of her mind about the mother who abandoned her as an infant, and the past, in which that mother comes to Canada looking for a new life at the end of WW2.
Loved all of the women in this book, the detail...
