This is a good introduction to the characters and issues that will appear in Small Great Things. A quick read as it is a short story, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I think Maia was a dick, so was Mrs Grau-Lerner... but Ruth's mum was wonderful!

Has anyone seen these before? It's an animated short story from Kindle. Several pages had very cool graphics. The story was just alright, but what can you ask for when it's such a short story. It was free with Kindle Unlimited. I recommend checking it out just for the animation, story... not so much. Very interesting concept. ACTUAL BOOK NOT LISTED IN LITSY. 3.5 ⭐️

WanderingBookaneer I just got it and posted about it! 7y
Karen3 @WanderingBookaneer what do you think? The mermaid kind creeped me out a bit, but it's pretty cool. 7y
Texreader I read a Kindle in Motion book and just love these new bookish features. It's nonfiction but extremely readable. 7y

Ruth, a gifted 3rd grader, receives a scholarship to Dalton, a prestigious private school in New York's upper east side. It's a world of difference from her previous school in Harlem. But no matter how capable she is, all her peers notice is her skin color.

Wow. I listened to this short prequel to Small Great Things today while I was driving and I'm thinking there's a chance that the full-length novel may be one heckuva read.

👉🏻I got this for 94 cents in Audible's big sale today. I think there is still time if you want to grab it 😉💃🏻✔️💯

Sleepy cat, quilt, and short story. Ruth is in a school race; a bully says "Just run like the KKK is chasing you". Chills down my spine. #catsoflitsy

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I'm glad I read this after Small Great Things.

Soubhiville Oh, I haven't heard of this! I'll look for it after I read Small Great Things, since that's what you recommend 😊 8y
WanderingBookaneer @Soubhiville : You can read it before. I just think it would have clouded my opinion against a certain character. 8y
Soubhiville I started the book this morning 😃 8y

“You know,” she said, as if they had been in the middle of a conversation, “there are stars there right now. You can‘t see them, because they‘re obscured by the sun. But the minute the sun goes away, wow— they‘re as bright as jewels.”
