It's a bit difficult to review. Mostly I really enjoyed it. To be very honest, the ending disappointed me. The characters were really good, enjoyable and definitely relatable. I loved the writing style & it was very wholesome. Kate was just too much, the writer thought of all the talents and qualities in this world and decided to put into her. Overrated but worth reading. I think I expected too much.
PS- I love and adore Gus.

I have no idea where the story is going, but it's so damn wholesome. And just when I thought it couldn't get better, Kate went and met Gabriel. I have really high hopes with this one. 🙈

Book 92

I listened to Bright Side by Kim Holden. Kate, despite having a hard life, is an optimist. She is starting college with a different end goal than traditional freshmen. This novel is a slice of life (albeit an unrealistic life)/love story. The characters are dynamic, and the relationships feel real. It was incredibly engaging. 4.5 stars

READ THIS BOOK. I have very little to say to you bc I don't want to spoil a single thing but know this: you will smile (a ton), you will laugh (a ton), you will cry, you may scream (if you're anything like me anyway) but just read it. Bright Side was a gift, it was a privilege to read this book, Kate changed my life. This heartbreaker gutted & demolished me, but I wouldn't give it up for the world. Do yourself a favor, please read it. Please.

That was super sad. Definitely reminiscent of Nicholas Sparks. I liked the characters and the plot. A little bit unrealistic, but overall, I liked it.

I‘m crying. A lot. Bright Side was not what I expected it to be, it was so much better. Even though my heart is broken I can honestly say I enjoyed this book from the bottom of my heart. The characters were fun and quirky and the plot was great. I thoroughly enjoyed Kim‘s writing and hope that many, many others give Bright Side a chance.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫4.5 Stars. I loved the characters in this emotional book. Reminds me of a John Green book. Bring tissues.

This book is so far okay. 2 things the author has done/is doing that's sort of annoying. One, she alluded to some medical (or psychological maybe?) mystery that's lame, just tell me what it is. Second, the word DUDE is everywhere. It's seriously driving me insane. But I have the worlds cutest #bostonterrier so I'll deal 😂😂

Bright Side is an absolute favorite of mine. It's so impacting and beautiful. I highly recommend BS and all of Kim Holden's books because all of them are so, so amazing.

I'm liking this book. The main character, Kate, has this habit of cursing and saying 'dude' a lot. Which at first is kind of annoying. As you get to know her high quality of character, it becomes kind of endearing.
(My college roommate said 'dude' incessantly - I picked it up and said it just as much by the end of the first month much to my boyfriend's [who is now my husband] horror! Oh, the memories😁)

I sort of want to get today's Audible daily deal... but I have not had the best luck with 'new adult' books that have awesome reviews.

Have any of you Littens read this? Thoughts?

This book has come to mean a great deal to me. It makes you feel things in a way that will destroy and rattle you. I loved everything about it. Yes, there were lots of tears!

I don't know where to start with this book. I'm just annoyed at how perfect Kate was. She was drop dead gorgeous, positive attitude, always happy go lucky and let's not forget that she was a genius violin/ guitar player and could sing! Oh and she was super smart and every one feel in love with her within the first 5 mins. Gag me with all this perfection. Only the last 10% actually made me feel something. I just wasn't invested at all the other 90%

I loved this book. A rollercoaster of emotions but beautifully done. Would highly recommend this book but make sure you have tissues ready.
