Maximum Ride Illustrated Edition
Maximum Ride Illustrated Edition | James Patterson
17 posts | 104 read | 14 to read
This new incarnation of the multi-million copy-selling Maximum Ride series is the perfect way to introduce the blockbuster adventures of a heroic flock of winged kids to a new generation of readers. The eight-book series has been abridged to four volumes containing the series' key stories--this volume contains the full story of Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports--and features a full chapter of new material that bridges this story and The Angel Experiment. Each edition is enhanced with a selection of cinematic full-page art that brings the heart-stopping action alive in a whole new way. In the next volume of the essential collection, Maximum Ride and the other members of the "flock"--Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel--are just like ordinary kids, only they have wings and can fly. Now the Flock members are faced with a new enemy: robots called Flyboys who are prepared to hunt them to the ends of the earth. The last thing Max wants is to keep running for her life, but she has to, taking the Flock across the country. There, they meet the sinister scientist Ter-Borsht, who tells them about the most frightening human experiment they can imagine: a kind of ethnic cleansing of the entire planet. It's the second installment of an epic tale that races, rocks and rolls toward an astouding apocalyptic event in Nevermore--and a surprise, brand-new grand finale to be released in Fall 2015!

My review is a little late but this is one of the books I finished for August‘s #TBRTarot, a book with a name in the title. Maximum Ride (known as Max to her friends) is the 14-year-old leader of a flock of children whose DNA has been spliced with bird DNA. These kids have wings and can fly, and their powers are growing. They‘re fleeing the evil corporation who experimented on them and raised them in dog kennels. This is the second book (cont)⬇️

CatLass007 in the series and I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys YA and likes to piss off the nut jobs in Florida who have added the series to their list of banned books. Read the first book Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment. (edited) 1y

I loved it but Fang and Max can get very frustrating at times.

To start, I finished this in a day. I enjoyed it a lot. I also enjoy how James Patterson formats the chapters, it‘s easier to read and I feel like the little extra details that aren‘t needed get left out which is great. It was such a great read, and fit with the first book well. Definitely recommend!

Another great piece in the Maximum Ride series! I can‘t wait to see what happens next. Just like the first book it leads right into the next.

Book 2 in the Maximum Ride series was just as intense as the first book and I think I liked this one a little bit better than the first, or maybe I just go used to the storyline. I would recommend this book series, is is pretty good so far.

Power's out, so no working on the computer and no hot lunch for the boy. He is pissed off about both. School has power at least.

alisiakae Oh no! How long have you been without power? 6y
tournevis Two hours, i.e. from wake-up time to it's-time-to-leave-for-school time. Power company says most will have power back before 10, all "before tue end of the day". 6y

This former high school now contains administrative offices and space for professional development. When I visit, I like to walk on the indoor track in the basement. The lights are usually off over the pool so it looks less creepy than usual. #Litsywalkers @kaye

IamIamIam That's awesome! So glad the building was able to be repurposed! 6y
alisiakae That does seem like it would be creepy when the lights aren‘t on! 6y
Kaye Perfect place to walk. 6y
DarcysMom What a great place to walk. 6y
Lauram @kaye @DarcysMom It really is a great spot to escape for a bit during the work day. A friend of mine remembers traveling to this building for high school track meets. 6y

Rachel.Rencher @HotMessJess I studied psychology & small business organization, so I'll actually have two degrees. After my past year of writing and book hoarding, though, I've decided to ditch those fields and go to grad school for literature 🤓 8y
HotMessJess Get it!! I studied Physical Anthropology and environmental studies.... ended up in grad school for education (curriculum dev.) you always end up going a different direction! Good luck! 8y

Today's prompt is black and orange and I thought this was a great fit.

BTW did anyone see the Maximum Ride movie? Was it any good? I thought the books were fun but kind of cheesy and I have a hard time picturing how it would work out in movie form...
