Double Down (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #11)
Double Down (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #11) | Jeff Kinney
The pressure s really piling up on Greg Heffley. His mom thinks video games are turning his brain to mush, so she wants her son to put down the controller and explore his creative side. As if that s not scary enough, Halloween s just around the corner and the frights are coming at Greg from every angle. When Greg discovers a bag of gummy worms, it sparks an idea. Can he get his mom off his back by making a movie . . . and will he become rich and famous in the process? Or will doubling down on this plan just double Greg s troubles?"

I chose this book because when I was little, I loved reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid and there‘s a lot of series of them. But this book was new that‘s why I wanted to read it. #San_3H

Can there be too many posts of kids loving books? I think and hope not.
Between his book and snack he doesn't even notice me taking pics. #raisingreaders

It has its moments--especially near the end--and as always a fine easy read in the midst of a 5-hour car ride. When my 2nd kid stops reading these, so will I.

Reviewsbylola My stepdaughter loved this series up until about 12 or 13. 8y
DreesReads @Reviewsbylola my younger recently turned 14, and we now get these from the library before car trips! I used to buy them from scholastic asap. He's over that! 8y

These are the only books I'm committing to for my December #TBR since I've already read a good chunk of each. I picked up Habibi after reading Blankets. I should finish Double Down tonight. And I've been meaning to read Labyrinth Lost for two months. 📚

Had the amazing luck to take 51 third graders to meet the author of their FAVORITEST BOOKS OF ALL TIME. One little one burst into tears and another little one asked, "Is this REAL LIFE?", while a third jumped out of their seat and yelled "THANK YOU!! AAAAUUUGGHH!!!" as they hugged me. Teaching the #bookworm life is 100% the best feeling. #TeachersofLitsy

megt That's so great! A young reader in my life got to meet him and have a book signed about a year ago. He was SO excited to show me the autograph that he was literally shaking when turning to the page. 8y
BookNerdBritt That is so cool! 8y
Sharanya @megt it was wonderful! Haha I happen to have a signed classroom copy of the new one from our visit hidden away, for fear of total anarchy in the library... 8y
Sharanya @BookNerdBritt it was amazing!! The kids were beyond thrilled. 8y
BookNerdBritt I bet! My 3rd graders love those books, too! 8y
