I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting story revolving around the slave trade and then the ‘rookeries‘ of St Giles in London set in the 18thC. It‘s beautifully written with some fantastically colourful characters. There is a slight Dickensian feeling to the tale, even some of the characters‘ names add a certain ambience. Fast paced it takes you on quite a rollercoaster of a ride. A great piece of historical fiction which I can highly recommend.
