So, I live in DC. We are going to the movies and avoiding the metro and the downtown area. Last night, I accidentally gave directions to a Trump wack-a-doo on my way home from work. He was looking for "Trump Tower," so he could "pay his respects." Ugh. I am avoiding federal DC, and enjoying the "DC as F*ck" portion of the city I love. Maybe I will hit an anti-inauguration concert later. DC is known for its punk bands. Tomorrow, the woman's march.

JEMoutrageous And also realize there is no Trump Tower in DC. There is the Trump Hotel. I guess the guy was going to pay his respects by purchasing a $30 drink at the hotel bar. 8y

Great, short read about Prohibition in DC-- the politics and the reality both in the halls of power but also the city in general. DCs experiences were different--bootlegging wasn't controlled by organized crime here like it was in most cities. Props also for looking at how The District's African-American population was effected and placing it in the larger context of changing race relations in the capital. Plus, recipes!
