pickFast-paced, very readable with an unpredictable plot, this book set in Ghana's capital Accra tackles the incredibly important topic of far-right American groups' involvement anti-LGBTQ bills/laws there. P.I. Emma is quite badass and tenacious in her undercover work looking for the murderers of two gay men and two trans women (violent, gruesome deaths, read with caution). Is this a bit melodramatic? Yeah. Is it also kind of devastating? Yeah.
pickI love this series. Sadly it‘s the last in this series and it is very personal to the author, who was born in #Ghana. As in real life, the book involves the attempt to pass a law making homosexuality a crime. The law is being pushed by an American “Christian” group promoting family values. But the opposition starts dying horrible deaths, prompting private detectives (Emma Djan et al) to infiltrate some scary institutions. An excellent new book. ⬇️
