This book was written for young people but adults need to read it too! A devastating and infuriating yet vitally informative book about Asian-American history. NOTHING I have read so far was taught to me during my colonial-centric American education, I only knew bits and pieces from family discussions. We need to do better. Maybe if there were more awareness of history, it wouldn't repeat itself so often.
Bookwomble I suspect that the ability to "pull the same shit" repeatedly is exactly why our colonial education systems exclude information that might lead to greater awareness and empathy ? 3mo
jitteryjane724 @bookwomble definitely. I'm hopeful though. Some US states are starting to require more Asian-American history in the curriculum and the younger generations are pushing for higher standards ❤️ so proud of them 3mo
