Legit made me feel so much 🥹🥹
The emotions this book evokes are raw. My heart physically ached as Maddie navigated her grief while fulfilling her brother‘s final request. Their bond was timeless, making her loss even more painful. Her story with Dom was equally heartbreaking, though in a different way. I haven‘t cried like this in a long time, but reading this was worth it. Book #14 in 2025
There was an obvious nod to PS I Love You in title and correspondence (received from the posthumous giver) setting up challenges for a year, but beyond that the story differed. I enjoyed it even with the early recognition that Maddie, the FMC, seriously needed therapy to resolve her childhood rearing as well as the manner in which her high school crash played out.
A bittersweet, delightful second-chance romance read filled with loss, trauma, lots of laughs, and some 🌶️🌶️🌶️ romance! Sounds like a perfect read, eh? Yes! For me it was a great little rom-traum of a read!
Maddie was uber annoying at first but Dom saved her 😆 and made me love her and them together midway.
There‘s some important meditation on grief and family here, which makes it a worthwhile read notwithstanding the absolutely BONKERS decisions made by both the FMC and love interest in the last 150 or so pages. Weirdly, it might have been better as a plain ol‘ fiction story rather than a romance.
The above book is my choice for November. I noticed this will not be released until December, according to GoodReads.
