“Meet me in the park. I have that, and Dad‘s old flannel, still loose at my shoulders and long for my wrists. And I have the knife tucked inside my boot. Just in case.”
“Meet me in the park. I have that, and Dad‘s old flannel, still loose at my shoulders and long for my wrists. And I have the knife tucked inside my boot. Just in case.”
I think that this book is very interesting and has the thriller aspect that I find captivating in the stories that I read. However, I do not think that this is a book that I would use in my classroom or in my classroom library as it is more of a young adult read with some mature language and it is more of a challenging read for children in the grades that I will be teaching.
The story revolves around Lucy Preston, a teenager hoping for a relaxing vacation. However, things quickly take a dark turn when she and her detective mother discover a body in an abandoned amusement park. Lucy investigates the town‘s secrets and becomes entangled with Audrey Nelson, another teen connected to the mystery.

I think the book is very interesting but not suitable for young readers in the classroom. It is more of a young adult read and the experiences in the story are too mature for elementary audience.

This book is a thriller and very captivating, however this book wouldn‘t be one I use in my personal classroom. This book has young adult themes that would not be appropriate for elementary readers. The language is also challenging and too difficult for the grades I prefer to teach.
