I found some last year...a small set of tubes that I have not opened. Want to save these for something extra special. Took forever to find!

Now that you have mentioned how you are learning to use gouache, it makes me realize that I should probably work with mine before I really need them for a project...save me from blunders later on 😂🎨💝. (edited) 1mo

bookandbedandtea @AnnCrystal Yes, try them! Use them! I've started to turn away from the "saving" things viewpoint. Use the fine crystal and the fancy ingredients and interesting art supplies! 1mo

bookandbedandtea @AnnCrystal I'm (obviously) and very amateur artist but I have fun painting so I keep doing it. I've alternated between watercolor and acrylic till now but I really like the feel of these gouache paints. 😄 1mo

With paint, it's watercolor and acrylics for me too... depending on what I am working on. I favorite the watercolors. Have you tried the watercolor pencils? Love these.

AnnCrystal @bookandbedandtea 👏🥳💝. Try! I love these. They are only for watercolor...I learned that the difficult way 😂. I read that some artist mix their own paint into them, but I feel that it would stain and limit their usefulness. 1mo

bookandbedandtea @AnnCrystal Right! I feel like it would only be able to use them for that one color (or similar colors) once I did that. I think. once I start using them. that I'll stick to watercolors. 😁 1mo

AnnCrystal 🎨😊👍@bookandbedandtea true. That's a good plan. With only water, they are easy to just dab on a cloth to clean. Replace the cap and they are ready to use for the next project. I love them. 🎨😉👍💝. 1mo

Pies for tomorrow are done! 2 pumpkin, 2 pecan and 2 fudge. I will be making two more fudge pies tomorrow since all the other pies are going to other houses tomorrow.

(The fudge pie is my favorite! It‘s somewhere between fudge and a gooey brownie and its a necessity or Thanksgiving!)

carys14 @RadicalReader Mix together 1 cup sugar, 4 tbl unsweetened cocoa and 1 tbl flour. Add in 1/2 cup milk, 2 eggs, 3 tbl melted butter and 1 tsp vanilla. Stir until blended. Pour into unbaked pie crust and bake in 350 oven for 30 min or until center is set. It is so simple. I have no clue why I don‘t make it more often. 7y

Happy Pi Day, my friends! I just celebrated an early party in Anchorage a few nights ago; a close friend has been throwing a Pi party for years. You can't see the Pi-shaped tin to the left but we made a banana bread in it. Flavors included pumpkin, apple, 2 types of key lime, Mississippi mud, Kentucky Derby, mixed berry, chocolate peanut butter. No savory this year which was an error.

kspenmoll Do you live in Anchorage? My brother & sister in law have lived in Kenai for 35+years. When they first arrived they had to go Anchorage for most things. I need to get back; have not visited in forever! 8y

Wife Pie day is my daughter's birthday. She's 27 today. We had Sweet beet pie from #sisterpie in Detroit. ❤️All of your pies look amazing! 8y

Zelma @kspenmoll I used to live in Bethel. One of my closest friends recently moved from there to Anchorage (I was glad because it knocked that last flight leg off my trip!). I know quite a few people in and around the region. 8y
