John thinks he‘s just going to get a pleasant night w/ an army captain. Little does he know, he‘s going to get swept up into fairy wishes, a secretive cult, & a puckish narrator.

This was delightful. A stronger read for me than Mortal Follies. Less to the romance (which was still sweet), plus wishes gone awry, action, dramatic rescues, & some really lovely sibling relationships. & Puck continues to make me smile! & a less abrupt ending!🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Catch up review from mid year 2/5.

Total delight. I love Alexis Hall in all his romantic moods from serious to this ridiculous nonsense. It was exactly what I needed.

I love the snark in this series so very much.

“And whereas in the enlightened twenty-first century the marriage of a British aristocrat to a Person of Colour is a wholly unremarkable thing that results in no hostility whatsoever, in the bad old days of the 1800s it caused quite a scandal.“
