I couldnt put this twisty tale down.Julia Bartz, New York Times bestselling author of The Writing Retreat With this powerhouse debut, Lauren Ling Brown has established herself as a remarkable talent to watch.Laurie Elizabeth Flynn, author of The Girls Are All So Nice Here How far would you go to belong? I found this one hard to get into - and normally I like a dual timeline thriller. It picked up midway through, though I think I‘ll have forgotten all about it in a week or so.

2.25⭐
⬗ I failed to connect with this because of the multiple characters to keep track of along with dual (or maybe more) timelines which left me continuously perplexed about what was happening. Also, it was way too long.
⬗ The narration by Brie Carter and Chandler Gregoire was good.

⭐️-I‘m a fan of dark academia & secret societies & sorority drama & mysteries…. & this was just not it. There‘s such a disconnect right from the start between characters & the plot. I love alternating POV/timelines but this was so flat I had to keep going back to the start of the chapter to remember who I was reading. DNF @ 75% bc reading it felt like punishment. One of my most anticipated reads of the year too! Not sure what went wrong

Pickpick

Oh the sophisticated sliminess of Ivy League secret societies pull me in every time and it‘s just fun to read the evildoers get their comeuppance! Also, it‘s a Reese Bookclub pick so I can‘t help but try to cast my imagined streamed limited series.

Got this one as soon as it was released. So far, is captivating. Maya, a Princeton grad, returns to Princeton for the annual alumni event with hopes to spend time with her sister. Naomi, Maya's sister and Princeton student, is late to meet Maya at the event and Maya's determined to figure out what's happened. Excited to find out what's going to happen!!
