This one is not for me. I gave it 20% - 173 pages and I just can‘t. On to the rest of my mountainous TBR. This one is headed for my friend‘s Little Free Library. ❤️📚 #hailthebail

I‘m really struggling with this one…I‘m on page 173, which is 20% in (820 page book). The main character has aged from 4 to 8 years old. There‘s a lot of sexual content; way more than is okay with a main character that‘s only 8. I‘m grossed out. I really don‘t want to read this 8 year old‘s thoughts about what his body does, much less his actions. Those who have read this book, tell me, is it worth it to continue? 😒
My #doublespin for February. This chunkster will have to push into my March reading. 😉❤️📚 #clearmyshelves2024
Jack Burns' mother, Alice, is a tattoo artist in search of the boy's father, a virtuoso organist named William who has fled America to Europe. #father #boundtogetherjune

It has been years since I have read this and I decided to revisit it. I know it doesn‘t get many positive reviews but I am not ashamed to admit it is one of my favorite books. I am going with the audiobook format this time.
This was my U book for #litsyatoz and was unfortunately between a so-so and a pan for me. I love John Irving. He's one of my favorite authors so this book was a disappointment. His books are often long and I don't usually have a problem with that, however this book seemed to have a lot of sequences that really could have been left out. Still love him though, may be time for some rereads of my favorites.
When I pass by a charity shop on my way home and I can't rezist the books displayed outside. 🤓Another Irving book to add to my collection, new adventures in Detective Hole's saga and some other interesting finds. 🤓

I am definitely going to have to start rereading my john irving collection but with favourite writers i worry that the books won't bear rereading. Anyway when this monster came out it was meant to be based on irving's life but the story is about a yng mans search for his father which sees him tour tattoo parlours around the world as his father departs city's with a tattoo as a souvenir - a brilliant read i recall

So this summer I got my #TBR shelf down to just over 100 books, but after last weekend and this weekend, I'm back to 131. I think the kids are going to have to find someplace else to store their video games. 😆
It's been years since I've had it in my hands, but I think about it almost every day.
