Such a stellar story! The enemies to lovers trope can feel so superficial sometimes but this book did it so well. Both characters only had parts of the other's story and once some of those truths were revealed, their relationship grew with empathy. Dylan's struggle with ADHD and Derek's journey with grief were handled with compassion and the two men really grew to love each other and rely on each other, flaws and all

Dylan's bad relationship with his neighbor Derek isn't improved when he literally falls through the floor between their units. Their lives get more and more entwined as Dylan helps repair both the damage he caused and the underling plumbing issues in Derek's apartment.

I really enjoyed this romance that built from dislike to love. I really enjoyed the growth of each character on their own and together.

I really liked these two leads, their romance, and how the story delves into grief (death of a parent and close friend) and mental health (ADHD and anxiety). The banter is very funny, if it does feel a bit like *all* the characters have the same sense of humour after a while. But there is one issue I REALLY hope is fixed before this publishes (Sept): a scene with cops that depicts them as gay-friendly, nice, reasonable. Pure pinkwashing copaganda

Oops the two print books I'm already reading were out of reach when my baby fell asleep on me yesterday, so I started this queer romance and now I'm reading three, plus an audiobook! At least now I have variety: one nonfiction, one romance, and one horror. How many books do you all read at the same time?
