Why couldn't we read this book instead??? 😂😂😂

Zelma No kidding! 😆 8y
Laalaleighh Ohhhh I love all of his books! True story: I found a paperback copy of The 48 Laws at a library in highschool and checked it out on a whim. After I read it I went back and exchanged it for his other book, The Art of Seduction because I loved reading all the historical anecdotes. Well, I made the mistake of leaving it sitting on my bed one day while I was at school, my parents found it, and I came home to a full blown intervention. (Cont) 8y
MrBook Love his books!!! 8y
Laalaleighh It required both my parents making me ride to the library with them to show them the 48 laws to calm them down and make them understand I just liked the writing style! Their exact words when I walked in the door "What is this filth? No daughter of mine is going to be a courtesan!" ???. I bought 48 laws and gave it to my Dad for Christmas that year ?. 8y
Blair_Reads @Laalaleighh that's hilarious!! I was supposed to read Mastery a few months ago but didn't make it through. Maybe bc the audio was dry?? Bc they picked him thinking I would like all the stories included. They pretty much expect me to come and bring booze 😂😂 8y

#trueconfessions I joined a book club in January that focuses on business/self help books. I don't read those kinds of books, but I liked the people and thought if I was a part of a club I would broaden my reading life and read them...blah blah blah. Needless to say I have read 0 of the books. I've started many but finished none. So maybe I can read this short version before the meeting tonight 🙈

Zelma That is hilarious. Hopefully you can fake your way through it and still socialize with the people. 8y
LauraBeth Crack open the wine and say, "I've found that I can be both powerful AND nice at the same time in business and I don't believe in gaining power at the expense of others as this book suggests." Then just sit back... 8y
Smrloomis 👏🏽 I think most self-help/ business stuff like this is super repetitive and you can probably get every thing you need from skimming or a condensed version like this - just my two cents 😁 let us all know what you think after the meeting! 8y
Dogearedcopy LOL, Every time someone puts a business title in front of me, I'm like, "Ugh. Tedious. Booooring!" Then I read it and I'm all like, "I can take over the *world* with this!" ? 8y
