Can't believe it's already the time for New Years. I was happy I still got plenty of reading in since I've been so ill this month. It's been a rough month for sure but that escape into reading is still great. Most of my points this round are from the wordsearch and holiday reads. My favorite book was Meet Me At Christmas by Jenny Colgan and Across The Ages by Gabrielle Meyer.

LiseWorks Well I hope you feel better soon, some virus hit me on Saturday and I was in bed for the whole day. It was great having you on my team. Happy New Year. 😊 3w
RedxoHearts @LiseWorks oh no! I hope you are feeling better. Half of my family were sick like that as well for Christmas. I luckily didn't get it and stayed away from everyone as much as I could. LOL I'm apparently having a bad colitis flare up so food and I aren't friends right now. Which was tough with the mexican food buffet we do for Christmas. 3w

I love Jenny Hale Christmas books! This one was fairly emotional as it tackled grief, heartbreak, memory loss, infertility, and PTSD, but in the end love and Christmas heal everything in a very Hallmarky way.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I thought it was trying to do too much at first, but it all came together at the end. It felt comforting in a way, like it was what I needed to read right now. It had a strong focus on family while still dealing with real-life issues we face. I wouldn't say it is lighthearted, it definitely has some heavier emotions to it, but it left me feeling hopeful.
