On way back from Taylor Swift at Wembley. Tired and aching!! But a fabulous show.

BarbaraBB You and Taylor? Somehow I didn‘t connect the two of you. But glad you had a great time!! 4mo
TrishB @BarbaraBB my kids are obsessed with her!! They‘ve been 5 times so far. I got gifted a ticket by them, I‘m not a big fan but the show is amazing, fair play to her. 4mo
BarbaraBB That makes sense! And I am in awe of how professional she is too! 4mo

LeahBergen Fun! And I want to read this book. How are you enjoying it? 4mo
andrew61 My daughter and her best friend were there and loved it. I drove her and her sister to see her at the Manchester arena about 10 yrs ago so Taylor is big in our family. Glad you had a great time Trish. 4mo
TrishB @LeahBergen got half way through on the train- wanted some quiet time to read the rest so will pick up when I have some home alone time. It‘s a very quiet read if that makes sense. 4mo
TrishB @andrew61 I have to also say- the fun and happiness in the crowd is very soothing to the soul ❤️ 4mo

This is a fictional take on the three Brontë sisters‘ upbringing in Haworth, told from Emily‘s perspective. This really does have the bleakness of her novel; the illnesses that plagued the family, their inability to hold down suitable work. At times this was quite hard to read; I didn‘t particularly like Emily, nor Charlotte, yet it left me incredibly moved and by the ending I was almost distraught 👇

JillR I‘ve not read or enjoyed a lot of classics, but I did love both Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, so am wondering now whether to try Anne too? 8mo
Tamra I‘m looking forward to this one - even more after your review. 8mo

I sobbed my heart out finishing this last night. It‘s a fictional story of the Brontë sisters, told from Emily‘s perspective. I knew it was going to be sad but it was so much more than I expected. The writing is so beautiful and their lives were so hard. Thank you for getting this for me Trish. Absolutely loved it! Best book I‘ve read so far this year.

TrishB So glad! It has popped up everywhere since. I‘ve just got the kindle version thanks for pointing out! 10mo
rockpools Oooh. Also, admiring your blue-green shelf. I got a right telling off from a customer at work the other day, for never having read the Seven Sisters series (“but why not? I can‘t believe it. Surely you‘re supposed to…” ??!) 10mo
julesG @rockpools Haven't read the Seven Sisters series either. You're not the only philistine 😁😁 10mo

rockpools @julesG Thank you for your support 😂😂. I get told off for the most bizarre things! 10mo
julesG @rockpools Maybe choose an obscure series you've read and ask patrons why they haven't checked out that series yet? 10mo
rockpools @julesG Murderbot perhaps 🤔 I mean, not obscure, but… 10mo
julesG @rockpools Good choice! 10mo
