Pretty Boys Are Poisonous
Pretty Boys Are Poisonous: Poems | Megan Fox
9 posts | 13 read | 8 to read
Megan Fox showcases her wicked humor throughout a heartbreaking and dark collection of poetry. Over the course of more than seventy poems Fox chronicles all the ways in which we fit ourselves into the shape of the ones we love, even if it means losing ourselves in the process. These poems were written in an attempt to excise the illness that had taken root in me because of my silence. Ive spent my entire life keeping the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the weight of their sins. My freedom lives in these pages, and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and their identity by using their voice to illuminate whats been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness, says Fox. Pretty Boys Are Poisonous marks the powerful debut from one of the most well-known women of our time. Turn the page, bite the apple, and sink your teeth into the most deliciously compelling and addictive books youll read all year.

Megan Fox‘s collection of poems.

This was such a raw and powerful collection. I could feel Fox‘s anger at the people in her life who failed her, the media, her place in the world. She‘s blunt and doesn‘t shy away from the difficult topics of her career and her life. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 #TheSealeyChallenge

This book!!! Ahhhh so damn good! Also idc if all her interviews say only the 2 ending poems were about MGK…. You cannot convince me that this book isn‘t 95% all about MGK. The receipts are too many between couple interviews + deets shared publicly about their life. I listened to the audio then read this copy a 2nd time and was pleasantly surprised to see beautiful illustration in it too!! A QUICK but riveting read.

You guys.

I LOVED this poetry collection!

When I heard Megan Fox wrote a book, I was intrigued. When I listened to her read these raw poems, I was immediately taken in and impressed.

The audiobook is only 38 minutes long. I listened and then listened again.

Here's one of the many quotes I jotted down: "You'd be so much more handsome if you'd get an exorcism."

Ruthiella Love the quote! 😈😆 11mo

I didn't know Megan Fox had a book out, but @DinoMom brought this to book club and generously donated it to my high school classroom. While I was reading it, my 27-year-old daughter called and said, "Oh, the new Megan Fox book, can I read it when you're done?" Score! I haven't heard those words in 10 years.

Book 211📚 4⭐️

Well that was absolutely heart breaking 💔😢

She put those boys on BLAST. Definitely got some clear MGK vibes from some of them.

Whoever put their hands on this woman needs to CHECK themselves🤬

Teenage me would have been OBSESSED with these poems. Angsty. Dark. Pained. But kind of deep sounding.

Actor Megan Fox delivers with a new collection of poetry about love - mainly the dark and heartbreaking side of it. Over the course of more than 70 poems, Fox takes us through the range of emotions that love can evoke in us, but concentrates on how we often lose who we are in the process. Fox chronicles all the ways in which we fit ourselves into the shape of the ones we love, even if it means compromising ourselves.

I wanted to highlight every poem in this book. If there was ever a book written for me this was it. While I haven‘t experienced everything portrayed in these poems it still absolutely gutted me. I‘ve never read a poetry book that leaves such a lasting effect on me. I‘m just speechless. I sit here and just ponder why us women have to experience all of these things at the hands of men. It‘s absolutely heartbreaking.
