Don't have any pictures for this one (I'm not big on photos anyway and everyone knows what a Kindle looks like). I'm finally picking it back up (and life too). I decided a new litsy account was the way to go, after losing my login info for the original one. (Totally okay, I needed to rebrand my blog anyway.)
This book, the first in the Kathy Ryan series, is just as enjoyable as the other one I read so far. I hope to end it on a pleasant note.
pickChills by Mary SanGiovanni is an intense tale about a freak snowstorm in May where the residents of a town don‘t just need to worry about the amount of snow piling up, but the dangerous things that are alive in the snow as well… and that‘s not even the worst of it.

so-soLovecraft in its theme. Set in an all american town cut off from the rest of the world by a strange snowstorm. Mixes police procedural with high concept horror. The main character discovers a body which has ritualistic overtones and finds out a plot to bring back the old ones. So so horror just a little slow for me. On a side note the secondary character Kathy Ryan has her own series now with three books.
