One of my favourite reads of this year! Beverly loves reading, she has anxiety and is socially awkward, her joys in life are her books, her parents and her homeless friend Bill. This book was such a delightful read, I was captivated by Beverly and her world, for me she was a very relatable character.Once I had finished it, I felt like I had gained yet another fictional friend and I know pieces of this book will always stay with me.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beverly thinks everyone is judging her. She has one friend, the homeless alcoholic Bill. And when Henry asks her out to dinner, while she's reading "Carrie", she thinks it's a prank that might involve litres of blood.

A story about mental illness, loss, grief, attempted suicide, attempted murder, but also about recovery.

It was weird being in Beverly's head. I wanted to bail several times, but I'm glad I stuck it out.

julesG Took the audiobook along to a plant fair. Then had to find pots for the new plants. Then I smashed a different plant and Beverly was so nice to continue telling me her story while I cleaned up the mess. 🙈 1y
