🌟🌟🌟🌟
I finished my first book for the #24in48 #Readathon. I can't remember when I first started this series, but it's been at least a decade. It surprised me with each book just how much I enjoyed what was essentially a book written for teenagers (which i haven't been for far more than a decade). This one was a lovely conclusion. Now moving on to Eat, Pray, Love. 🌎
@24in48

LibrarianRyan It‘s not the conclusion. Braschers wrote an adult book that shows the girls 10 years later. It‘s just as wonderful. Ohhh it was such a fitting and not fitting end. 6y
Traci1 @LibrarianRyan oooh, I didn't realize there was another. Thanks for the heads up. ☺ 6y

Well, I'm getting an early start on the #24in48 this morning, thanks in part to a husband who snores like a chainsaw. Since I couldn't sleep through the racket, I decided I may as well enjoy the peace and quiet downstairs with my coffee and my book. Hope you're all enjoying the #Readathon so far. 📚
@24in48

Hoopiefoot I‘ve got one of those too 🙄. Enjoy your cozy reading spot! 6y
Elizabeth2 This is a lovely photo! My favorite time to read is when everyone else is still sleeping, but by the time I‘ve made the coffee and settled in, invariably someone disturbs that peace within a few minutes...I guess I don‘t get up early enough. Enjoy your quiet time. 😊 6y
Traci1 @Elizabeth2 it didn't take long for my 3 year old to decide he was "all done bed," but the peace was nice while it lasted. ? 6y

I'd love for this to be true. I'm not sure if it is, though.

Libby1 I agree with you. 6y
Gina Not so sure I agree with that...🤔🤔🤔 6y
TheBookgeekFrau Actually, it really is true....An extremely hard concept to wrap your head around and practice on the daily, but true. The best explanation of this I heard from Bobby Petrocelli at a parent program called 10 Seconds 6y
Traci1 @C.Perone I think maybe personality plays a part in how difficult this is to maintain. I tend toward melancholy and pessimism, so I think it's harder for me to not see pain and suffering as inevitable. It's certainly something I'd like to overcome, though. 6y
TheBookgeekFrau @Traci1 Good point about personality; really good point. Might be why it was so difficult for me unlink pain and suffering into two distinct concepts and processes at first🤔 Thank you for that 😊 6y

I love these girls and it was hard to listen to them going through their hardships. But I know that the next book will be even tougher 💔

Disappointed in some of the unhealthy decisions made about sex in this one that were not addressed properly. It is fine that the author wrote the girls doing these things, but to comment that there was really no regret or consequences is not reality. I think it could have been handled better. I did think Bridget‘s interaction with the married man was well done though. I enjoyed reading this series with my daughter. Great discussion for us.

I started off this review very introspectively and philosophical and promptly forgot everything I wanted to say, so I'll simply say that I'm so glad this series was a part of my teenagehood and that I took the opportunity to revisit and reread it in adulthood.

Last in this series but not least! And before I start this, I just wanted to pat my own back and say how happy I am with my choice to start Mission Declutter my Library with these books. ❤️

That one thing that happens with my favorite character still haunts me from this one. I think a reread is due for all of them.

I love this series so much as an adult - I just wish I had read it as a teenager!
