so-soA beautiful widowed psychologist vacationing at a rural New Hampshire cabin is targeted by a sadistic serial killer…you know, the usual. A simple, scary setup, quick pace, and interesting-enough psychological angle make this 1997 thriller a worthwhile genre read (it earns a so-so because I wanted a better ending). If you want a competent one-night jolt of suspense and dread, this author delivers the goods.
