Read during my summer vacation

The 3rd book in The Joubert Family Chronicles. I haven‘t read the other books and sometimes felt I was missing something, but it didn‘t effect my enjoyment of the book

The blurb is misleading since the piracy doesn‘t happen until the last 50p. Up until that point this is a book about women not confirming to the gender roles. One wants to be a captain on a ship, one lives as a man and one lives with a woman

Put off reading this for a bit because I don‘t like books set on ships or with pirates 🤷‍♀️
Anyway, should have just trusted the author, it was a great addition to the series (it could be the last one but it was also left a bit open). A good read 👍🏻

TrishB @julesG there was just the one really and I quickly raced through some paras that were only about the ship, the sea, the wind etc etc 1y

Ruthiella @TrishB That explains it! 🐉 I‘m only on the Tawny Man trilogy now, but I think the Fitz/Fool nine books will be my favorites. 1y
