Blasted through this in 2 sittings. Bouncing around in her timeline kept it from feeling like a boring biography where we all know the ending. I‘ve followed Des‘ career but never knew the health challenges she faced. A great read for running fans.

Stopped by the library to pick up a few books to get through winter break. I realized I‘m at 29 completed for the year so I need to finish one more for a nice round number! Choosing to Run seems like a good motivational book as we hurtle toward the new year.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️If you‘re into the running world and people‘s personal journeys. I remember when Des won the Boston Marathon 2018. I had to leave to work and was secretly trying to watch it while working on a patient. A rare year of catastrophic weather and an underdog type story. There was so much adrenaline. Des is down to earth and gifted in the sport of running. Thanks for sharing your story.
Featuring both the story of an historic, unforgettable win and insight into the life of an indelible champion, Choosing to Run is a truly inspirational memoir from Boston Marathon winner and Olympian Des Linden, sharing her personal story and what motivates her to keep showing up.
This was such an interesting read by an incredible runner. It gave me a unique insight into who Des is and what running means to her. 5/5
Quick and to the point read, we get to experience the 2018 marathon with winner 🥇 Des Linden on that day with storm like weather, we also learn of her background and everything that led to this point and the people who had her back and those that didn‘t. It is not as personal of a story as I‘d like but the story moves quickly and it‘s a satisfying read
Debs Linden a behind the curtain look at her life asan elite distance runner .Raw real inspiring a terrific read.
