Jonathan Kent is planet earth’s new Man of Steel! Between fighting a dictatorship in a foreign nation and battling giant sea creatures it can be overwhelming. Will he follow in his father’s footsteps or forge his own path? With Clark Kent off-world battling in the universe, Jonathan Kent has stepped into the role of Superman to defend planet earth. Despite Jonathan facing the most devastating physical attack of his life, he’s ready for change. Along with his new ally Jay Nakamura, Jonathan will continue to stand against the dictator of Gamorra, Henry Bendix, who’s taken Jay’s mother captive. Along the way, Superman will team up with Jackson Hyde/Aqualand to face a creature from the depths of the sea unleashed by Lex Luthor. With every adventure, Jonathan will define what it means to be The Man of Steel.

Ohmygoodness, THIS is what I want more of in comics. The hope! Touching and funny and wholesome and earnest.
That whole sequence with young Jon and Nightwing, so sweet, I'm crying! Honestly, all the Jon working with Nightwing moments. Jon being sassy with Lex Luthor, yes please. The love interest just, having a mission, also supportive of Jon, yes. Lois's badassery and whole hearted acceptance of her son's sexuality. 🥰 1/?

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 While I'm ecstatic that there's one more recent volume in this series my library actually has, I would also gleefully accept any suggestions for comics that match this series' vibes. Need not be other Superman or Batman volumes, I'm open to investigating other super heroes. 😊 1y

Gotta love how a Superman comic manages to make even a Batman cameo wholesome. Just more proof of Alfred's unending awesomeness.

I‘ve read many graphic novels. This one spoke to my entire spirit. Characterizations, illustrations, writing is all beautifully done. Highly recommend.
