pickThis trilogy was exactly the cozy fantasy I wanted. Yes, stakes were higher in these 2 than the first one but the world building inside world building was good. And the characters were well built. I honestly wouldn't be mad if this series continued 😉
My husband and and I went for a drive just to get out of the house and to listen to more of Deadbeat Druid. When the sun wasn‘t so high, I went for a walk and continued to be annoyed by Maggie in At the Coffee Shop of Curiosities. The other character, Ava, makes me sad. She has epilepsy, and her parents raised her to be fearful of doing anything risky because she might have a seizure. My parents encouraged me to do things. #audiowalk
pickIf there‘s a cozy book about death, underworld, soul-sucking demons, murder, and abuse, this is it. Or, one could say instead, this is a book about healing.
Despite the heavy subject matter, this volume is surprisingly uplifting. It‘s more focused on characterization than plot, since the setting is of the dream-like, surreal variety. Usually I dislike that, but this time the POVs were grounded enough for it not to bother me.

pickAdam Binder has the toughest job ahead of him. Journey into the underworld to rescue what‘s been lost, but also keep his tag along brother and teenage elf alive at the same time.
I really do like the characters in this, even when I strongly disagree with their actions. The world building of the underworld was great, & I loved the exploration of the importance of painful memories. The ending felt a bit rushed, like a new idea added on. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
pickI really enjoyed this satisfying conclusion to Adam Binder‘s story. Slayton does an excellent job of crafting an engaging and thoroughly entertaining story. There were a few things that felt held back on such as everything that happened with Vran, but it didn‘t feel underdeveloped, feeling instead like it‘ll come up later. #LGBTQ #Fantasy #ColoradoAuthor
Best one yet. Loved the conclusion to this trilogy. And Michael David Axtell did an excellent job with the audiobook narration!
