It‘s “Pretty Woman” with violence, murder, too much plot armor and a chateau. Certain parts could have been shortened or even cut out, as it felt like I was reading the same text (the narrator‘s thoughts/perspective) repeatedly throughout the book. The overall concept is OK (a thriller told from the POV of a prostitute, albeit a boring prostitute) but like I said, the narrator‘s thoughts were SO redundant. Legit, it‘s a “no” from me dawg.
Well, I'm in the midst of this book and while I loved the way it began and thought it had a lot of promise it's now becoming an overwhelming and tense (which is, in general, a good thing for suspense novels) ordeal for an escort trying to get out of the business. I just feel like screaming at her and her naivety. It seems she would have better street smarts if she was working in this industry but she continually makes the wrong choices! Ugh
I got a major #bookhaul off of Libby today! Right now I'm listening to the tagged book and it's engaged me immediately. I'm actually really excited about all the books on my shelf right now and I expect it will keep me busy until my hold comes up for Hawkins new book, The Villa, which I was looking forward to with the New Year.

Also went to the library for the first time in months. Their hours aren‘t compatible with my hours (or my desire to leave the house on my days off) but I managed to hold myself down to just 7 books.
My first Adele Parks and I‘m amazed with the twist and turn of the plots, one after another. It started unassuming, all about Dora, an escort, on how and why she embarked on this sad journey. When I thought it was beginning to bore me, it changed tact and thrown another curveball. At the end, the curveball thrown for the epilogue had me thinking there could be a second part 😅 All in all, it‘s ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 for me!
