Goddesses in Everywoman: Thirtieth Anniversary Edition
Goddesses in Everywoman: Thirtieth Anniversary Edition: Powerful Archetypes in Women's Lives | Jean Shinoda Bolen, M.D.
Myths are fascinating stories that become even more intriguing when we realize that they can reveal intimate truths about ourselves and others. Jean Shinoda Bolen brings the Greek pantheon to life as our inner archetypes and applies the power of myth to our personal lives. Once we understand the natural progression from myth to archetype to personal psychology, and realize that positive gifts and negative tendencies are qualities associated with a particular goddess within, we gain powerful insights. Depending on which goddess is more active within, one woman might be more committed to achieving professional success, while another more fulfilled as a wife and mother. Bolen teaches women how to decide which qualities to cultivate and which to overcome, and how to tap the power of these enduring archetypes to become a better heroine in their own life stories.

I tried to think of other want/need things to spend birthday money on, but let‘s not kid ourselves here. Goddesses was already waiting for me on hold at the bookstore and, after loving The Green Mile as much as I did, I decided to try another of King‘s non-horror novels. 🥳 📚

Bklover Oh The Green Mile was wonderful! 3y
smalldogs_bigbooks2419 It was my first SK book. I‘ve avoided all of them because I thought they were all horror. Our local bookstore has a huge selection of his books, and I was thrilled to see how many aren‘t horror. 3y
BookwormAHN The Eyes of the Dragon is really good. 3y

Julie: "The book is about the archetypes that we take on as women and what we can learn about ourselves from the goddesses of Greek mythology. I like Persephone - she is the queen of the underworld. Darkness appeals to me. I work in comedy and find that tragedy is essential to humor."

ReadsInTheDark I noticed that there is also a Goddesses in Older Women. 8y
