So I spent a few days in Agen (South-Western France), hometown of Occitan poet/hairdresser Jasmin. Some of his poems were set to music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aNzrVSr03g) and he even had a few international hits in the 19th century, but he is almost forgotten now. I can just picture a genteel English assembly singing about BÃ©arn in heavily-accented Occitan ðŸ˜€! His salon (pictured) is now a sushi bar.
