As a older white woman I am always trying to learn, so when an ARC of this book was offered to me I gladly grabbed it. At first I found it a little slow as the author explained his adoptive white parents and their ultra religious home life. Soon, though, as the black author began to talk more of his experiences and his eventually questioning of things, I was caught up in his sad and frustrating tale. Definitely worth a read. 4/5 stars
