There Goes the Bride
There Goes the Bride: An Agatha Raisin Mystery | M. C. Beaton
11 posts | 17 read | 9 to read
Much as it goes against the grain, Agatha Raisin is trying to be a good sport. Even though her ex-husband James Lacey's upcoming marriage to the beautiful Felicity Bross-Tilkington fills her heart with dread, she takes a break from her successful detective agency to attend the wedding. It seems like a good idea at the timeespecially since Agatha's had her sights on the trs handsome Frenchman Sylvan. But as soon as she lays eyes on James, she realizes she's still desperately in love. Then, just moments before saying "I do," Felicity is shot. And now Agathahighly competitive, hopelessly romantic, and no stranger to scandalis named the prime suspect for murder.... There Goes the Bride shows bestselling mystery author M.C. Beaton at the top of her game.

Oh Agatha! She‘s got a lot going on, and not necessarily solving someone‘s murder. In this one, the crime itself somewhat takes a backseat, as Agatha‘s tendencies to latch onto good looking men becomes a main focus of the storyline - saying more would be a spoiler. I‘m happy to be back with Penelope Keith as the voice narrator!

I‘m flying through this series on audiobook and was so happy Penelope Keith was again narrating. I quite missed her in the last 2 books. This one was fun. Poor Agatha, she has the worst luck with men! Onward to book 21! 4⭐️

Poor Agatha has a right roller coaster of a time in this one! We follow Agatha through another mystery the characters are explored more deeply and we get to see a bit more of Agatha's vulnerability which deepens the connection with her.

This is one of them mysteries that twists and turns just when you think it is finally solved and case closed something else pops up and blows it open. I would highly recommend this book and this series

Cold feet? To have and to hold? Do you take this man? Do you take this woman?
There is more mystery to this book than whether they say i do or not.. But can Agatha play the detective once again?
Fantastic.

My last mystery got me out of my reading slump...so maybe I'll just read another! Can't help it. Cozy mysteries are my guilty pleasure.

AmyG I have only read a few cozy mysteries. I should be reading more of them. So easy and fun. A great distraction from every day. 8y
AllenTStClair @AmyG They are so fun, agreed. And guaranteed to fix a reading slump! 8y
Mariposa_Bookworm When I need a palate cleanse between reads I read a desert murder. Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder is the first in Joanne Fluke's series. 8y
