In DUNE: The Graphic Novel, Book 2: MuadDib, the second of three volumes adapting Frank Herberts Dune, young Paul Atreides and his mother, the lady Jessica, find themselves stranded in the deep desert of Arrakis. Betrayed by one of their own and destroyed by their greatest enemy, Paul and Jessica must find the mysterious Fremen, or perish. This faithful adaptation of the 1965 novel, Dune, by Brian Herbert, son of Frank Herbert, and the New York Times bestselling author Kevin J. Anderson, continues to explore Pauls journey as he evolves from boy to mysterious messiah. Illustrated by Ral Alln and Patricia Martn, this spectacular blend of adventure and spirituality, environmentalism, and politics is a groundbreaking look into our universe and transformed by the graphic novel format into a powerful, fantastical tale for a new generation of readers.

My decision-bind about what to read next was resolved by taking the path of least resistance, as this was just there. I mean, not in the tree, I don't, as a habit, shelve my books in oak trees! 🌳📚🌳🙃

Leftcoastzen But think of all the time and money you are saving by not turning a tree into shelves!😄 1y
Bookwomble @Leftcoastzen Tree library instead of a tree house? 🤔 Hmmm, we could make that happen! 1y
The_Book_Ninja It‘s good to see books outside of their natural habitat 1y

Pickpick

The 2nd volume in the graphic novel adaptation of Dune. This is starting to get into the more boring part of the book that slowed me down a lot when I read Dune the novel. The Fremen mysticism and Baron Harkonnen‘s plotting. The artwork is still gorgeous, and employs a different palette of colors than was emphasized in the first volume (more blues and cool colors than oranges and reds). Apparently the next volume won‘t be out spring 2024 (bummer).
